Obverse description Central field occupied by the interlaced royal cypher GR (Georgius Rex) in elaborate script, surmounted by a jewelled electoral crown. The mintmaster's initials appear in the lower field beneath the cypher. The design is bold and occupies nearly the full flan, with no surrounding legend, the cypher rendered in an ornate interlaced style characteristic of Hanoverian coinage of the period.
