| Obverse description | Central field features a crowned municipal shield of Haltern bearing an interlaced monogram or civic device, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circular legend STADT. HALTEREN with the date 1624 runs along the periphery between the beaded border and the outer rim. The design is typical of early seventeenth-century German municipal coinage, struck in the hammered tradition with characteristic irregular flan. |
