Obverse description Left-facing crowned and draped bust of King George V, wearing the Imperial State Crown and military uniform with decorations visible at the chest. The effigy, modelled by Edgar Bertram MacKennal, is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the crown's jewelled band and arched framework. The engraver's initials 'B.M.' appear on the truncation. The circumferential legend reads GEORGIVS V REX IMPERATOR, interrupted at the top by the crown, and the entire design is bordered by a dentillated rim.
