Reverse description Three oak sprigs, each bearing two acorns, arranged radially and filling the entire field in an elegant naturalistic composition designed by George Kruger Gray, with the engraver's initials KG visible near the centre. The denomination SIX PENCE is divided to the upper left and upper right, flanking the topmost sprig. The letters A and D appear at the mid-left and mid-right respectively, serving as mint marks for the designers. The date is inscribed in the lower exergue, with small lozenge ornaments punctuating the field. The whole is enclosed within a beaded border.
