Obverse description Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King George V, representing the modified third coinage portrait introduced in 1926, with the designer's initials 'BM' incuse on the neck truncation. The legend encircles the effigy in Latin along the periphery of the field. The portrait, engraved by Bertram MacKennal, reflects a refined and slightly altered rendering compared to the earlier second coinage type, with finer facial detail and adjusted relief.
