Reverse description Four crowned shields arranged in a cruciform pattern, each bearing the royal arms of England (three passant guardant lions), Scotland (lion rampant), France (three fleurs-de-lis), and Ireland (harp), with the interstitial angles occupied by paired interlaced Cs (royal ciphers) beneath small crowns. A small escutcheon bearing the cross of St George is placed at the centre of the cross. The date is divided by the uppermost shield, reading 16-81, and the surrounding legend MAG·BR·FRA·ET·HIB·REX identifies the monarch's territorial titles. The entire design is contained within a neat milled border.
