Obverse description Second portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, as designed by Cecil Thomas, with the legend ELIZABETH THE SECOND arcing around the upper periphery. The queen is depicted with a diadem and draped shoulders in a refined, formal bust. The field is plain and unadorned, with the reeded edge border framing the design.

The denomination appears flanked on either side — 6D to the left and 5C to the right — with the date 1964 positioned in the exergue below the floral motif. The legend RHODESIA arcs along the upper periphery. The designer's initials T.S. appear discreetly in the field.
