Obverse description Four-line legend in bold Gothic characters occupying the central field, reading TVRCK / BLEGERT / WIEN / 1529, commemorating the Ottoman siege of Vienna. A decorative foliate or leaf ornament appears above the legend at the top of the pentagonal flan. Small leaf or floral devices are placed in the lateral corners of the field, flanking the inscription. The entire design is contained within the irregular hammered pentagonal flan with no border or rim decoration. The legend serves as the sole design element, rendered in a bold, crude style consistent with emergency wartime coinage.
