| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped bust of Maximilian III Joseph, Elector of Bavaria, facing right, rendered in high relief with flowing curled hair. The legend MAX. IOS. is positioned to the left of the effigy, with H. I. B. C. & to the right, abbreviating his full electoral titles. The portrait displays fine baroque detailing in the drapery at the truncation. The field is smooth and unadorned, and the coin is bounded by a plain inner rim within the milled edge. |
