Obverse description Two impaled heraldic shields displaying the arms of Brandenburg-Ansbach, the dexter shield bearing a crowned lion rampant and the sinister shield featuring a quartered coat of arms. A beaded inner border surrounds the design, with the circular Latin legend reading 'IOA · ERN · D · G · MAR · BRAN · PRVSSIE' around the periphery.
