| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Frederick II (Frederick the Great) in armor, wearing an elaborately decorated cuirass with scrollwork and a ribbon bow at the shoulder, with long flowing hair tied at the nape in the Baroque manner. The numeral VI appears prominently on the breastplate, denoting the denomination. The encircling Latin legend reads FRIDERICUS D G REX BORUSSORUM, identifying the king by divine right as ruler of the Prussians. The portrait is rendered in a bold, high-relief Baroque style characteristic of mid-18th-century German coinage. |
