| Reverse description | Three-line denomination and date inscription in bold roman lettering occupying the central field, reading 'VI' on the first line, 'KREUZER' on the second, and '1804' on the third. A horizontal shelf or table-line runs beneath the inscription, from which a decorative floral garland is suspended centrally, hanging into the lower field. The overall layout is plain and utilitarian, consistent with the subsidiary billon coinage of the Conventionsthaler monetary system. |

Francis Frederick Anthony ruled Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld for barely three years before his death in 1806, leaving the duchy to his son Ernest — whose own descendants would eventually occupy thrones across Europe. This 6 Kreuzer was struck the year Napoleon was dismantling the old German order, and the small Thuringian duchies were scrambling to assert whatever residual authority remained to them through coinage. The KM#123.2 designation distinguishes this from the closely related .1 variety by a die difference in the reverse legend spacing.
