Additional information

Zamość held out against Russian siege for over a year during the Napoleonic Wars — the garrison under General Maurycy Hauke refused to capitulate until late 1813, well after Napoleon's catastrophic Russian campaign had effectively ended Polish military resistance everywhere else. Cut off from outside supply, the town struck its own emergency copper coinage to pay troops and sustain internal commerce. The multiple AKS reference numbers reflect documented die varieties produced under field conditions, not a single controlled mint run.
