| Obverse description | Aged, crowned bust of Frederick II facing right, rendered in a characteristically late portrait style depicting the king in his advanced years. The effigy shows the king wearing a royal crown with elaborate ornamentation, his neck adorned with a ribbon or cravat. The portrait is executed in low relief consistent with late 18th-century Prussian minting practice. The encircling Latin legend reads FRIDERICUS BORUSSORUM REX along the upper periphery. |
