Obverse description Central field features a finely detailed high-relief depiction of a large, ancient gnarled tree with a broad spreading canopy, its massive trunk rising from rocky ground and rendered with exceptional sculptural depth. The tree occupies the full height of the inner field against a mirror-polished background with ruthenium finishing applied to the border area. A small mint mark appears at the base of the trunk in the lower exergue. Additional information

Tomislav is the only ruler in Croatian history to have held the title of king, crowned — according to the primary source, a papal letter from Pope John X — around 925 AD. The Croatian National Bank's timing here is deliberate: 2025 marks eleven centuries since that coronation. The six-euro denomination is Croatia's standard commemorative face value since the country adopted the euro in January 2023, replacing the kuna after three decades of independence.
