| Obverse description | Central field features a finely detailed high-relief depiction of a large, ancient gnarled tree with a broad spreading canopy, its massive trunk rising from rocky ground and rendered with exceptional sculptural depth. The tree occupies the full height of the inner field against a mirror-polished background with ruthenium finishing applied to the border area. A small mint mark appears at the base of the trunk in the lower exergue. The circular legend along the upper periphery reads REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA 6 EURO, with the date 2025. completing the inscription at the lower right. |

Tomislav is the only ruler in Croatian history to have held the title of king, crowned — according to the primary source, a papal letter from Pope John X — around 925 AD. The Croatian National Bank's timing here is deliberate: 2025 marks eleven centuries since that coronation. The six-euro denomination is Croatia's standard commemorative face value since the country adopted the euro in January 2023, replacing the kuna after three decades of independence.
