| Obverse description | Central design features the Portuguese armillary sphere overlaid with the divided shield of Portugal, the latter bearing five escutcheons charged with bezants and a red border with castles. Above the shield, a crest of five towers and five small shields is displayed. The entire device is rendered in low relief against a plain field. The circular legend ESTADO·DA·INDIA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 6$00 appears in large numerals along the lower periphery, flanked by small floral ornaments. The coin is bounded by a beaded border. |
