| Obverse description | Saint Rupert enthroned in full episcopal vestments, holding a salt cellar in his right hand and a crozier in his left, presented in a hieratic, frontal posture. Below the seated figure, an oval six-fold coat of arms incorporates the central escutcheon of the Raitenau family, identifying the issuing archbishop. The surrounding Latin legend is divided across the field, identifying the saint as patron bishop of Salzburg. The engraving reflects the refined Renaissance style characteristic of late 16th-century Salzburg coinage. |
