| Obverse description | Armored equestrian effigy of Friedrich August II facing right, mounted on a rearing horse, with the Elector brandishing a sword aloft in his right hand. The figure is depicted in full military armor with elaborate drapery, the horse's mane and tail rendered in fine detail. A circular Latin legend surrounds the composition, reading D.G. FRID. AUG. REX POL. DUX SAX. ARCHIM. & ELECT., identifying the ruler as King of Poland and Elector of Saxony. The design fills the broad gold field, with the milled edge visible at the periphery. |
