Reverse description The reverse presents a full-length figure of Saint John the Baptist standing facing, clothed in a short tunic, holding a tall processional cross in his right hand and cradling the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) in his left arm; a large crescent moon occupies the left field behind him, with a face in profile visible on its surface. A mintmaster's symbol is placed in the field. The surrounding legend, divided into two parts, reads ECCE AGNVS DEI QVI TOLLIT PECCATA MVNDI and VISITAVIT NOS ORIENS EX ALTO, the Biblical texts incised in bold Latin capitals around the periphery.
