| Obverse description | Central field bears the Shahada in three lines of bold Arabic script within a lobed cartouche: 'lā ilāh illā Allāh / Muḥammad / rasūl Allāh' (There is no god but God / Muhammad / is the messenger of God). The marginal legend, encircling the central cartouche, names the four Rightly Guided Caliphs: Abū Bakr, ʿUmar, ʿUthmān, and ʿAlī. The overall layout follows the classic Ilkhanid religious formula, with the text executed in a bold, angular Kufic-influenced naskh style typical of late Ilkhanid hammered silver coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hand-struck production. |
