The Arabic legends in naskh script are arranged in multiple registers within the hexafoil, reading: al-Sulṭān al-ʿĀlim al-ʿĀdil Taghay Temur Khān, khallada Allāh mulkahu (Sultan of the World, the Just and Learned, Taghay Temur Khan, may God perpetuate his rule). The mint name Jurjan and the Hijri date 739 (AH) appear in the marginal legend between the points of the hexafoil, with the additional reference to Astarabad noted in the outer margin.
