Additional information

Haiti's 1846 coinage appeared during the presidency of Louis Guerrier, though Guerrier himself died in April of that year and was succeeded by Jean-Louis Pierrot — making the political authority behind this issue somewhat ambiguous in practice. The early Haitian republic cycled through heads of state with enough frequency that mint production was often inconsistent, and copper issues from this period are frequently encountered with significant die clashes and misalignments reflecting the limited technical infrastructure available to the Port-au-Prince facility.

KM#28 is one of the longer-running copper types of the series, spanning several administrations.
