Obverse description Central field features the stylized official emblem of the 1993 Daejeon World Exposition, depicting two abstract ovoid forms suggestive of a globe and a flying dove or dynamic energy, set against a finely granulated dotted background radiating outward from the central motif. Korean Hangul legends encircle the design, reading '대전세계박람회' (Daejeon World Exposition) along the upper and lateral periphery, with the issuing authority '한국은행' (Bank of Korea) at the lower left. The date '1993' and denomination '오천원' (5000 Won) are inscribed along the lower rim in a combination of Arabic numerals and Hangul characters. The mirror-like proof fields provide strong contrast against the frosted relief elements.
