Reverse description A detailed profile view of the ironclad turret ship Huascar is depicted in the central field, shown underway on stylized waves with both masts and funnel visible, capturing the vessel's distinctive hybrid sail-and-steam configuration. The Huascar, constructed in Birkenhead, Britain in 1865 and delivered to Peru, served as a celebrated warship during the War of the Pacific and is today preserved as a museum ship at Talcahuano, Chile. The legend HUASCAR arcs along the upper periphery, and the date 1979 appears below the vessel in the exergue.
