| Obverse description | A central vignette of the Imperial Russian double-headed eagle, set within an oval frame, occupies the middle of the note. Elaborate rococo-style guilloche scrollwork and floral ornaments frame the entire composition, with a text panel at upper left containing the authorisation inscription in Cyrillic script. The denomination ПЯТЬ ТЫСЯЧ РУБЛЕЙ is rendered in large stylised Cyrillic letterpress text to the right, with the year 1920 appearing on a ribbon cartouche at the top centre. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is largely unprinted, with a faint guilloche diaper-pattern underprint across the entire surface forming a subtle geometric background. An oval blank panel is present at the upper left, and the overall design is intentionally plain, consistent with the emergency issue nature of this Civil War-era note. |

The Provisional Government of Autonomous Siberia was one of several competing anti-Bolshevik administrations issuing currency in the Russian Civil War period, and by 1920 that conflict was going badly. Admiral Kolchak's White movement had collapsed by early that year, and the various Siberian provisional authorities were losing both territory and any pretense of monetary credibility. Notes of this denomination were issued in enormous quantities precisely because hyperinflationary conditions demanded ever-larger face values simply to function in daily trade.
Siberian White currency became worthless within months of issue. Surviving examples often show heavy use — the notes circulated frantically in a shrinking geographic zone before Bolshevik consolidation ended the issuer's existence entirely.
