Additional information

The Three Graces design revisits a pairing first realized in 1817, when William Wyon modeled a two-ounce silver pattern featuring the allegorical figures flanking a shield — a piece that never entered circulation and survived in only a handful of examples. The 2020 gold issue belongs to the Royal Mint's "Great Engravers" series, which explicitly frames itself around reviving dormant masterworks from the institution's own archive.

At just over 5 kilograms of .9999 gold, production of individual pieces required careful annealing cycles between strikes to achieve full definition without cracking the dies.
