Issued to mark John Paul II's fourth pastoral visit to the Philippines in January 1995, this coin was authorized by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas ahead of the papal trip — one of the most logistically complex in Church history, drawing an estimated four to five million people to Luneta Park in Manila for the closing Mass, a figure that remains among the largest single gatherings ever recorded.
