Obverse description Intaglio-printed portrait of King Carlos III of Spain (1716–1788) in three-quarter view occupying the right portion of the note, rendered in a fine engraved style against an elaborate guilloche underprint in violet-brown tones. The upper left carries the bank title in ornate script, with the denomination in large letterpress numerals at left and centre, flanked by intricate lace-pattern borders. Three facsimile signature lines for the Governor, Auditor, and Cashier appear in the lower centre, above the serial number repeated at upper right and lower left.

Reverse description Detailed intaglio vignette of the main façade of the Museo del Prado in Madrid, rendered in violet tones with fine architectural engraving that captures the neoclassical colonnade, arched windows, and surrounding trees under a clouded sky. The denomination numeral "5000" appears in all four corners within guilloche cartouches, and intricate lace-pattern borders frame the entire composition. A blank oval watermark area is reserved at the lower right of the central vignette.
