Obverse description The national coat of arms of Mozambique is rendered in the centre of the field, depicting a shield bearing a rising sun, crossed rifle and hoe, an open book, and waves of water at the base, flanked by a sugarcane stalk on the right and a maize cob on the left, with a five-pointed star above.
