Obverse description The national coat of arms of Zambia occupies the central field, featuring a shield with a wavy pattern supported by two human figures — a man to the left and a woman to the right — with an eagle displayed at the crest. A banner inscribed with the national motto runs beneath the shield. The legend ZAMBIA arcs above the design along the upper rim, and the date 1999 appears in the lower field below the arms.

Additional information

Issued as part of Zambia's prolific late-1990s commemorative program, a period when the Bank of Zambia produced an unusually high volume of collector issues — many featuring subjects with no direct connection to Zambia — primarily to generate foreign exchange revenue rather than to circulate domestically. KM#92 falls squarely in this category.
