Obverse description The central field features the coat of arms of Zambia, depicting a shield supported by two human figures and surmounted by a fish eagle with wings spread, with the national motto ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION inscribed on the scroll at the base. The date 1999 is displayed in large numerals flanking the shield, split as 19 to the left and 99 to the right. The upper legend BANK OF ZAMBIA arcs along the rim, while the lower legend 5000 KWACHA curves along the base of the coin. The fineness designation 999 appears in the exergue below the coat of arms.
