Obverse description The central recessed disc bears the coat of arms of Cameroon in the field, surrounded by a raised circular legend reading REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN in the upper portion and the date 2017 at the base. The motto PAIX TRAVAIL PATRIE / PEACE WORK FATHERLAND flanks the shield in smaller lettering within the inner circle. The wide convex outer border of this spherical coin is decorated in antique finish with high-relief depictions of endangered animal species, each identified by its Latin binomial inscription, including Equus grevyi, Panthera pardus, Caretta caretta, Gorilla sp., and others arranged around the circumference in segmented panels.

Reverse description The central recessed disc displays the mint mark of the Mint of Poland — a stylised crowned double-W monogram within a raised circular border — with the denomination 5000 FRANCS CFA inscribed in the surrounding legend and the fineness and weight specification Ag 999 7 oz. below. The broad convex outer border continues the antique-finished wildlife theme from the obverse, featuring additional high-relief depictions of endangered species in segmented panels with their Latin names, including Panthera tigris altaica, Balaenoptera musculus, Diceros bicornis, and others.
