| Additional information |
The BEAC issues commemorative pieces under the umbrella of the six-member CEMAC zone — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon — though these large-format silver-plated issues are produced almost exclusively for the international collector market and rarely, if ever, circulate within any of those economies. The 5000 CFA face value is nominal; it bears no relationship to the coin's production cost or market price.
At 466.5 grams, the planchet is among the heavier in this collector series.
