Obverse description The obverse features a medieval relief-style scene set beneath a Romanesque arch, depicting Saint Elizabeth of Hungary tending to a group of supplicants or the poor, rendered in a Gothic manuscript illumination style. To the left of the central design, the denomination '5000' appears in large Gothic blackletter numerals, with 'forint' and the date '2007' inscribed below in the same typeface. The legend 'Magyar Köztársaság' (Republic of Hungary) is inscribed in two lines in Gothic script in the lower left field. The Budapest Mint mark 'BP.' appears at the bottom centre of the coin.

Reverse description The reverse presents a full-length frontal effigy of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, crowned and veiled, rendered in a stylised medieval sculptural manner. She is depicted holding a bouquet of roses in her folded hands before her, referencing the legend of the miracle of the roses associated with her charitable works. The legend '* Árpád-házi Szent Erzsébet *' curves along the upper periphery in Gothic blackletter script, while the birth and death years '* 1207 · 1231 *' are inscribed along the right field. A small star ornament appears at the lower right of the field.
