Reverse description The reverse bears a finely detailed left-facing portrait bust of the Hungarian-American mathematician and computer scientist János Neumann (John von Neumann), rendered in high relief with his suit and tie clearly visible. Behind and to the right of the effigy, an architectural depiction of an early electronic computer — referencing the IAS machine developed at the Institute for Advanced Study — occupies the upper right field. The curved legend 'Neumann János · 1903–1957' follows the upper rim from left to right, recording the subject's birth and death years in the Hungarian name order.
