Obverse description Central field displays two conjoined heraldic shields — the Hungarian state arms (bearing the apostolic double cross, green hills, and horizontal stripes) surmounted by the Holy Crown of Saint Stephen, and the monogram shield of the Budapest Philharmonic Society — flanked by crossed laurel and oak branches. The founding year '1853' appears below the shields in the lower central field. The circular legend 'MAGYAR KÖZTÁRSASÁG' (Republic of Hungary) runs along the upper periphery, with the denomination '5000 FORINT' inscribed along the lower periphery. The Budapest Mint mark 'BP.' and the year '2003' are positioned to the left of the central device, with the mint master's mark to the right.
