Reverse description Deep olive-green and brown-violet on multicoloured underprint, with a central vignette reproducing a tapestry scene of Vasco da Gama's encounter with the Samorin of Calicut. A period nau (sailing vessel) appears alongside the Coat of Arms of the Count of Vidigueira, and a pepper tree is also present as a reference to the spice trade that defined the Age of Discovery.
