A mule combining dies from different issues, this piece pairs Reza Shah's post-coronation coinage with elements belonging to a separate denomination — an error of production rather than intent. The Tehran mint in the late 1920s was navigating a wholesale reorganization of the Iranian monetary system following Reza Khan's forced abdication of the Qajar Ahmad Shah and his own coronation in 1925, and die management during this transitional period was inconsistent enough that mule strikes entered circulation without immediate detection.
Confirmed mule status is what drives collector interest here. The weight corresponds to the 5000 Dinar specification, but the die pairing does not.
