Obverse description The Polish state eagle displayed in the center of the field, with wings spread and head turned to the right, rendered in a stylized socialist-era design without a crown. The date 1976 appears split across the lower field flanking the eagle, with the mint mark MW below. The denomination 500 is boldly inscribed in large numerals at the bottom of the field, flanked by the currency abbreviation ZŁ on each side. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA arcs around the upper periphery, separated by lozenge ornaments.
