Obverse description Central design depicts the iconic Nageiredo Hall (投入堂) of Mitokusan Sanbutsuji Temple, a designated National Treasure of Japan, dramatically perched upon a sheer cliff face rendered in high relief with naturalistic rocky detail. The structure is shown in three-quarter perspective, emphasizing its extraordinary elevated position on the rockface. The legend '日本国' (State of Japan) arcs along the upper field, while 'TOTTORI' and '鳥取県' (Tottori Prefecture) appear in the left field. The denomination '五百円' (500 yen) is inscribed along the lower arc, all within a beaded border.
