| Obverse description | The state emblem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea occupies the central field, depicting a hydroelectric dam and power transmission tower framed by sheaves of rice tied with a ribbon, surmounted by a five-pointed star radiating rays above a mountain landscape. The circular legend in Hangul reads 조선민주주의인민공화국중앙은행 (Central Bank of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea) around the upper periphery.
