Obverse description The national emblem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea occupies the central field, depicting a hydroelectric power station framed by sheaves of rice and a five-pointed star above radiating rays of light, with a ribbon bearing the state name in Hangul script at the base. Flanking the lower portion of the emblem are two crossed olive branches extending toward the rim. The circular legend in Hangul runs along the upper periphery reading the full name of the republic, while the silver purity designation '999' appears to the right and the weight indicator '1oz' to the left in the mid-field.
