Reverse description A full-length colored effigy of Yokozuna Tanikaze, the legendary 18th-century grand champion of sumo wrestling, depicted in a formal standing pose wearing a ceremonial kesho-mawashi apron richly decorated with Japanese characters and fringe, rendered in applied polychrome color. The figure is presented in a three-quarter view with the wrestler's powerful physique prominently detailed. The inner border features a continuous repeating key-fret (Greek meander) decorative pattern encircling the composition. The date '2005' appears in the lower exergue in stylized numerals.
