Part of a long-running Mongolian lunar series produced for the export collector market, this piece was struck in 2007 to coincide with the Chinese Year of the Pig — a calendrical system Mongolia shares culturally through its Tsagaan Sar lunar new year tradition. The coins in this series were not intended for domestic circulation and were largely distributed through European and Asian coin dealers.
