| Reverse description | A naturalistic gilt monkey is depicted seated upright on a branch at center, rendered in high relief with applied gold gilding that contrasts against the matte silver field. A small Mongolian script inscription appears to the left of the central figure. The central motif is framed by an ornate wreath-like border of interlaced vines and scrollwork, beyond which a continuous frieze of smaller scampering monkeys in various poses encircles the entire design, separated from the outer rim by a plain recessed channel. |
