Additional information

Petra was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, and Mongolia joined a long roster of nations issuing collector silver around the Jordanian city during the mid-2000s boom in landmark-themed numismatic programs. These issues were produced almost entirely for the collector market and never approached circulation — the face value is essentially ceremonial against Mongolia's domestic economy of the period.
