Comments

Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG produced these test notes for internal calibration of their banknote processing and counting machines — not for any issuing authority, and never intended for any form of payment. The "500" denomination is functionally arbitrary, chosen to mimic the physical and optical properties of high-value currency without replicating any specific legal tender.

Siemens Nixdorf itself ceased to exist in 1999 when the division was absorbed into Wincor Nixdorf, which narrows the production window for these notes considerably.
