| Obverse description | Against a mirror-polished field evoking a celestial night sky scattered with stars and constellations, multiple relief figures representing the twelve animals of the Oriental zodiac are depicted in dynamic compositions across the central field. A decorative sunrise motif appears at the base of the border. The twelve-sided border carries the bilingual legends in Latin and Cyrillic scripts, with the denomination '500 ТЕНГЕ' inscribed at the top within a raised cartouche, flanked by 'REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN' to the left and 'ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ' to the right.
