Additional information

Togyzqumalaq is a traditional Kazakh board game played with 162 seeds distributed across 18 cups, with roots in the nomadic steppe culture of Central Asia stretching back centuries. Kazakhstan has made a deliberate effort to document and promote it internationally — UNESCO added the game to its Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2020, directly preceding this issue. The coin is part of a broader National Bank series dedicated to Kazakh cultural patrimony rather than monetary function.
