Kazakhstan's commemorative silver program has occasionally blurred the boundary between numismatic object and wearable jewelry, and this pendant issue is one of the more literal examples. The National Bank authorized a small number of pieces designed explicitly for suspension — struck to coin specifications but issued with a loop fitting as part of the legal tender instrument itself.
The .925 standard matches British sterling, a fineness Kazakhstan's mint adopted for several collector issues during this period rather than the .999 fine silver more common among contemporary bullion programs.
